Conversatorio con Maritza Dávila-Irizarry (Inglés)

 Maritza Davila is an artist and professor at the Memphis College of Art where she teaches printmaking and drawing. Originally from Puerto Rico, Maritza has been creating and exhibiting artwork throughout the world since the 1970s. Maritza has been the receipent of many accolades and awards, including the Faculty Enrichment Award (MCA) in 1996, 1998, 2000, 2003, and 2004, the Master Artist Award (WKNO) in 1999, and the Prix de Dessin et Gravure (France) in 1996. Currently she is exhibiting "Global Fusion" (an exchange portfolio of prints with printmakers from around the world) at the Chicago Printmaking Collaborative (which will soon be on exhibit at MCA). She is also contributing artwork to PowerUp pARTy at Power House Memphis (date TBA), the Playhouse on the Square Original Art Auction (April 25, 2009), and the Women's Foundation for a Greater Memphis Legends Award, honoring women "whose visions forged new paths and whose passions inspire others to plant, till and harvest a better community for us all" (April 29, 2009 at the Peabody Hotel).
